Sounds like you're finally having a stroke of good luck. About time.
[ Instead of answering Martin's question right away, K's smiling as he turns the camera toward his surroundings, offering Martin a scenic view as he continues walking. Though he intermittently turns the camera back to face himself as he recites: ]
I wandered lonely as a cloud That floats on high o'er vales and hills, When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine And twinkle on the milky way, They stretched in never-ending line Along the margin of a bay: Ten thousand saw I at a glance, Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they Out-did the sparkling waves in glee: A poet could not but be gay, In such a jocund company: I gazed — and gazed — but little thought What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie In vacant or in pensive mood, They flash upon that inward eye Which is the bliss of solitude; And then my heart with pleasure fills, And dances with the daffodils.
[ He's quiet for a few moments afterward. Then finally answers Martin. ]
Stayed a night at the base and I'm already back out travelling, with Senku now. He's managed to arrange a meeting with someone on the island — not the Pacairs, and not the cabin creature. Someone solitary, and very protective of their "territory". I'm sort of Senku's plus one.
[ Not only to make sure he survives the trip and encounter, but to possibly act in a diplomatic capacity if needed. Senku is Senku; his tendency toward pragmatism and bluntness at the cost of social graces can sometimes lead to trouble. And he's self-aware of that fact, so K got invited. ]

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed — and gazed — but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
